About Believers Christian Fellowship

Believers Christian Fellowship is a Bible-based family church and was set up in 1985.

Ron Borthwick

Our fellowship began as a house gathering, organised and pastored by bro Ron Borthwick, whom God had led to the Glasgow area and had a burden to introduce others to Christ. The house gathering quickly grew and meetings were moved to Stockiemuir Primary School. Eventually, with the growth of the church, the meeting place again moved to Glasgow city where it stayed until 2018.

Bro Ron Borthwick started the now Scottish Summer Convention back in 1992. Back then it took the form of camps and such, but eventually became a convention. For many years, a Ministers' Meeting was held alongside the convention as a means to unite the ministers and encourage younger ministers.

Bro Ron Borthwick went to be with the Lord in October 2015 and bro Wan Mekwi took over the bishopric in 2017 and has been pastor since.

Our aim as a church is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to see established a true relationship with Him so that men and women can become genuine Christians with the Spirit of Christ living in them. We also desire the unity of faith amongst all Christians under the headship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Acts 11:26

And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Acts 2:42

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Iona

The Island of Iona, off the west coast of Scotland was home to Columba and his fellow workers, who spread the pure gospel throughout Western Europe. Columba is from the Latin, meaning "dove". Iona is from the Hebrew, also meaning "dove". It is interesting that, from this angle, the island looks like an eagle's head.
